Meet The Energy Experts
Presentations
We had a really interesting evening in the company of our 4 experts. Here are links to 3 of the presentations:
- Bean Beanland, Director of the Heat Pump Federation, set the scene with a summary of UK progress towards electrification of heat, why it is important, and what changes were needed to hit the target of net zero by 2050. His presentation is here: Decarbonisation of Heat in UK Homes and Businesses
- Terena Plowright, Chair of the Greening Campaign, gave us plenty of advice on how to interprete the thermal imaging of our homes, and tips on what we could do to reduce heat loss and draughts – making them warmer and cosier for less. Her presentation is here: Energy Efficient Warmer Homes
- Alison Zarecky, Climate Change Project Officer, Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, told us what support was available from the council, including free home surveys, and information about grants – including full grants for low income households. For more details, have a look at her presentation here: Free Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Support
- Peter Moss, Trustee Petersfield Climate Action Network, gave a presentation on the exciting Hampshire Retrofit project, about to be launched across Hampshire with the Environment Centre. More details on this will be coming soon.
